Clinical Neuropsychology for Adults & Children

Specialists in Rehabilitation Across the Lifespan

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have an enquiry or would like to make a new referral during the CV19 pandemic. We are meeting with our current clients via Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype, and are finding this to be a positive experience in the absence of face to face meetings. We are therefore happy to offer initial assessments for new clients using video calls too. Our aim, as always, is to provide the very best service possible.

We are only too aware this is an extremely difficult time for many people, and we hope you and your loved ones stay safe and well over the next few weeks and months.

Jo and the team at Sage Psychologie

Sage Psychologie UK is an experienced and friendly team based in the heart of Cheshire. We absolutely love our work, and are dedicated to providing the best service we can

Our treating team consists of Neuropsychologists who work across the lifespan with young people and adults. We have a genuine care for people, and a passion to work together with others to help re-build their lives and futures after catastrophic events. These events often lead to a brain injury and/or mental health issues such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. We have a breadth of experience that allows us to create bespoke packages of treatment alongside other professionals and clinicians. We can see clients in their own home, at our therapy rooms on the outskirts of Chester, or anywhere that provides a safe and private space for us to meet. We also offer virtual sessions via online platforms such as Zoom.

Both physical injury to the brain, and psychological injury as a result of trauma, can dramatically affect someone’s life and sense of identity. This applies as much to young  people as it does to adults, although the effects may show up in their lives in different ways.  Often there is a deep-seated sense of loss and grief, together with anxiety, anger, and a resistance to moving on with their lives. We support our clients positively through these times, focusing on their psychological adjustment and well-being.

Sometimes we administer neuropsychological tests, as this can assist with our understanding of the cognitive impact of brain injury upon someone’s life, e.g. at home, school or work, and in their social environment.

Whenever possible we involve our clients’ loved ones in the rehabilitation process, helping them to understand why the young person or adult they knew is no longer the same, and how best they can support them. Often family members themselves – parents, siblings, spouses/partners, and children – can be traumatised by what has happened, and we offer psychological support to them too.

Meet the Team

DH, Daughter of Client: Jo.. we would like to thank you so much for all the support you have provided the whole family following Dad’s brain injury. Your empathy, guidance and knowledge have been invaluable as we have worked together to achieve harmony out of devastating circumstances. We couldn’t have done it without you. A huge thank you from all of us.

SW, Client: The time I have spent with Jo has been life changing. She has been incredibly caring and has helped me turn my life back around after a serious RTC. She is a truly wonderful person. I will always cherish her positive impact on my life forever.

Rachel Trett, Occupational Therapist, Balance OT Ltd: I have worked with Jo in various interdisciplinary teams for over 10 years as both a Brain Injury Case Manager and Occupational Therapist. Jo is highly empathetic and client centred, allowing her to relate with apparent ease to clients with complex needs. I have always enjoyed working with Jo as part of a rehabilitation team due to her collaborative approach towards client goals, supportive nature and clear communication.

LA, Wife of Client: Jo has been a life saviour to both my husband and myself. From our first consultation through cognitive tests, to the results of those tests she has been compassionate, understanding, and very easy to talk to. In our case the results were quite shocking but we always felt very looked after and able to talk to her about everything and anything. We wouldn’t use anybody else for therapy.

SC, Client: Jo worked with me for 6 years altogether. Throughout she supported me emotionally in my relationships and family issues, and also issues I felt within myself. She is a very open- minded, understanding, warm hearted person, and I would highly recommend her
